One Step Lasagna

As I said in my February e-newsletter, there is a story behind this recipe in my daughter in law's family. Her sister had invited a friend over for dinner and made this lasagna recipe. When this friend tasted her lasagna, his first thought, "This is the girl I want to marry!" They are now happily married. So I guess you could definitely call this Italian meal a meal for romance and love! :)

Normal serving (9x13 OR 10x15 pan-(click here)
from my sweet daughter in law's family

11/2 Box regular whole wheat lasagna noodles

1 1/2# hamburger or Italian season sausage

2 cans tomato sauce*

5 heaping T (or to taste) Pizza/Pasta Mix (click here)

24 oz. cottage cheese

18 oz. ricotta cheese

1/3 cup milk

2# shredded mozzarella cheese

Don't boil the noodles! Brown/cook the meat; blend the tomato sauce with 3 T pizza/past mix, set aside 1/2 cup sauce, then mix the remaining sauce with the meat; blend/mix cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, milk and 2 T pizza seasoning. Now, you simply layer the items: 1. Uncooked noodles; 2. Cooked meat; sauce combo 3. Cheese mixture. You will do 2 cycles of the layering. Then, noodles, sauce w/o meat and shredded mozzarella cheese.

Cover with foil. Bake 375 degrees for 1 hour 15 min. Remove foil and brown 10 to 15 min. If you let it set about 15 min. before serving the sauce will set up more and make a beautiful serving presentation.

*Del Monte tomato sauce has seasoning added and adds to the flavors.

**I used the pasta/pizza seasoning (click here)
