Finally Dishwasher Soap that works!

I have been very frustrated this past couple of years with film on my glasses...my dishes in general.

I would run the dishwasher only to see a film on the glasses and dishes. I would rerun the dishwasher with water only to no avail. I discussed my dilemma with friends and was told to add Finish Gel...I was told to use Lemi Shine...I was told to use 1/2 cup of vinegar with each load of dishes. I finally resorted to washing the dishes twice using soap and vinegar with the first washing and following a quick wash with vinegar. The dishes still had a film but we didn't seem to be tasting the dishwasher soap that was still on our dishes. Does anyone want to say WASTE??

Then, my Bosch dishwasher began to get a thick film on the inside and the soap dispenser would intermittently not open to the point of not opening at all. Now, I was washing the same dishes over and over since the soap dispenser wouldn't open. I started looking for a new dishwasher. argh.

I just happened to be listening to a home improvement show on my radio and someone called in asking about how to get rid of soap scum. My ears perked up!! The caller gave my exact predicament and the talk show host gave the solution: Seventh Generation Dishwasher Gel. To my pleasant surprise, it worked. It took a couple of washings for the dishes to get their film off and my dishwasher to not have the film. The dispenser started working again! No new dishwasher being bought around here anytime soon. Hurray.

Note from Paula:
The glass to the left is with the new dishwasher soap (Seventh Generation Dishwasher Gel). The glass is really clear but had scratches on the back which made the picture look like it wasn't clear.
