Home made Pound cake dressed up!
This is a Sutton family recipe!
1 3/4 cups raw sugar
1 cup butter
2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
Cream butter; add sugar and cream well. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Gradually add flour. Put in well greased and floured tube pan OR 2 bread pans. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour (shorter time if in bread pans)
It made two small pound cakes. I simply cut each loaf in half and then layered it with whip cream, blueberries and strawberries. This is the perfect season as these fruits are fresh and it is a light dessert that it pleasant to the eye. Hope you enjoy!
