Mock Rye Bread

Use basic whole wheat bread recipe (see my web site for the recipe: www.paulasbread.com
For each loaf of bread dough, sprinkle the herbs and then cut the ingredients into the bread dough.

2 T dill seed
1 T anise

Use the cutter/scraper to cut the ingredients into each loaf. This wonderful tool can be found on my web site under kitchen gadgets! You don't want to knead the ingredients into the loaf because then you will have swirls of the herbs throughout the loaf and won't have the wonderful rye flavor throughout the bread.

The bread really does tastes like rye bread but you have no rye grain in the bread recipe. It will be 100% whole wheat bread but tastes like rye bread. Incredible!
