You probably do the normal chocolate and vanilla shakes but Sonic with all their new flavored milkshakes really pushed me to try something new with ice cream and make my own paradise shake! Drinking a tropical shake kind of makes you think you are in Hawaii. :) Well, close your eyes as you drink the shake and maybe you'll think you are in Hawaii!
Tropical Milk Shake
3/4 cup milk
2 medium rip bananas
3 cups vanilla ice cream
1 can (8 oz.) chunk pineapple undrained
Topping:
2 Tbls flaked coconut toasted
In your Bosch Blender, process all the ingredients until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses and top with toasted flaked coconut.
Burn a gardenia candle for the Hawaii affect! :)
Note from Paula: not to knock going to Sonic Drive-In or any other place for a fun milk shake, just note it is the flavorings/ingredients that make the variety. Break out of your rut and add something new to your homemade shake! I simply thought about things that "sounded tropical" and added them to my typical vanilla shake! Your Bosch blender will help you make wonderful shakes!!

Peachy Buttermilk Shake
I am on a peach kick because peaches are in season and so sweet and fresh. I also happened to buy a 1/2 bushel from our famous Livesay Orchard in Porter, OK!. Can I say sweet...delicious...can't eat just one?! I have to use great restraint to not gorge myself on peaches. So the next best thing is to create multiple foods using these wonderful peaches. I have posted Peaches and Cream muffins and peach fruit leather. Now, I have created a peach milkshake with a zing! Enjoy some peaches today!
Peachy Buttermilk Shake
1 cup buttermilk
3 cups sliced peaches
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1/4 cup raw sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Place all the ingredients in your Bosch Blender and process till smooth. Pour into chilled glasses. Makes 3 cups. Obviously, I doubled...tripled this recipe as we wanted a lot of shakes. I have made a small amount for the ingredient list to accommodate those who don't want to make the mega amount I tend to always do! Our milkshakes went fast and were so refreshing for the hot summer. Hope you enjoy your peaches and shakes as much as we do/did! :)

Refreshing Raspberry Lemonade!
Anyone needing a cold refreshing drink on a hot summer day? Is the pizzazz of home made lemonade gone?
Raspberry Lemonade
In your Bosch Blender blend:
2 cups fresh raspberries
1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice*
1 cup Xagave
Add the juice concentrate to 3 quarts of water. Many don't like the seeds and grainy taste raspberries have. If this is the case for your family, simply strain the lemonade before you serve it...this will leave you with the raspberry lemonade taste minus the pulp.
Garnish with fresh strawberries and add some lemon slices. It is always pretty to see lemons floating in the pitcher.
*The Bosch Citrus Juicer is perfect for helping you to make FAST lemon juice.
I decided to make a simple change and it made everyone want a glass of lemonade...I added raspberries. I used to add strawberries to our lemonade but then the kids started seeing this in all the restaurants and my 'special lemonade' became normal, every day drink. :( It was interesting to see how a simple change could reignite their love for lemonade.

Mocha Frappucino
We made the doughnuts and I wanted coffee to go with the doughnuts. A Mocha Frappucino isn't what people think of buying to go with their sugary doughnut BUT this recipe was too good to pass up. We were able to whip this up with our Bosch Blender fast and everyone enjoyed them.
Mocha Frappe
3/4 cup strong dark coffee, room temp.
1 cup whole milk
2 Tbs. Xagava
3 Tbs. Hershey Chocolate Syrup
2 cups ice
Directions:
Blend in your Bosch blender until smooth. Sit back and enjoy your mocha frappe with your whole wheat doughnuts!
For those who like the Starbucks moments...this is a real close to the Starbucks Mocha Frappucino! Yum!...and the price is so much better. So indulge and have a moment of coffee heaven. :)

Horchata
This is a wonderful drink with Mexican flair. Many of you will immediately recognize the name and others, like me will have never been so bold to try new and different drinks. Your Bosch Universal Blender and your NutriMill Grain Grinder help make this wonderful sweet and refreshing drink. It is so good you might want to drink it anytime but it will enhance a Mexican theme dinner. I have posted a wonderful Mexican casserole recently on Paula's Bread social media that goes great with Horchata drink! Enjoy!
6 tablespoons rice (grind into rice flour)
6 ounces blanched almonds
1 inch cinnamon stick
3 2" strips of lime zest (rind only, not the white pithy part) 3/4" long
1 cup raw sugar (this amount will vary to your taste)
Grind the rice in the Nutri Mill Grain Grinder. Combine the rice flour with the almonds, cinnamon and lime zest. We used a Bosch blender to pulverize the almonds, cinnamon stick and lime zest. Let the mixture stand overnight ( at least 6 hours.)
Horchata
Serves 6-7; from my daughter in law's neighbor!
Place the mixture in Bosch blender and blend for 3 minutes or until mixture is smooth and no longer has a gritty texture. Add 2 cups of water and blend again for just a few seconds. Place a large sieve over the mixing bowl. Line the sieve with 3 layers of damp cheesecloth. Pour in the rice mixture. Do a little at a time and keep stirring to help the mixture go through the sieve. Once all the liquid has passed through to the bowl, gather the cloth together at the top, give it a twist and squeeze out any additional liquid.

Perfect Cranberry Punch for your Christmas/New Year's

Okay...the word is EASY!! That is my middle name. This is a fun and EASY punch to make for your festive parties. It has such a great presentation and looks so festive and fun for your party.
Cranberry Punch
1 gallon cranberry juice
1 2-liter Sprite*
1 orange (sliced)
1/2 cup xagave** (click here)
24 oz. whole cranberries(this is only for looks, so you can do more or less!)
Simply pour all the ingredients together! I would suggest preparing this early so that the oranges have a time to soak into the juice to enhance the flavor. You can wait the Sprite till the end so that you still have the fizz.
*For a more healthy punch, don't use Sprite but use apple juice.
**You an substitute the Xagave for honey but realize you will taste the honey in the punch. This isn't a bad thing but sometimes people don't want the honey taste.

Snow Cones for a hot summer's day!

Now you don't have to run to a snow cone hut to get the pleasure of a cold snow cone. These are sweltering days and a icy snow cone fits the bill to cool down.
Simply pull out the Bosch Slicer/Shredder attachment. The rasping disk is perfect to make the shaved ice. (click here) You can also use the Bosch Food Processor with the bottom blade to make the shaved ice.
We served ours in Sundae cups but you can purchase the paper snow cone cups for authenticity, if you like. Get your ice cream scoop to dish the ice in the serving container and then pour your topping. Oh soooo good!
Toppings we used:
For easy topping use Blueberry and strawberry pancake syrup!

Strawberry snow cone:strawberry snow cone
1 pint hulled strawberries
2 limes juiced
1 cup Xagave (click here)
1 cup water
Puree in Bosch blender and then pour over snow ice. You can also add the ice directly to strawberry mix and it makes a Strawberry Julius.

A satisfied customer! :)

strawberry lemonade

Did you know that one cup of strawberries has more vitamin C than an orange? So does this count when I eat a cup of strawberries in my strawberry scone?
Strawberries are an excellent source of the water-soluble nutrient. In fact, a serving of eight medium strawberries provides 96 milligrams of vitamin C or 160 percent of the recommended Daily Value (60mg). That's more vitamin C than one medium orange, which contains 74 milligrams of vitamin C. (http://www.calstrawberry.com/health/vitaminc.asp)
Did you know you can use a frozen strawberry in lieu of ice water? Picture a wonderful strawberry lemonade with frozen strawberries floating in lemonade.
Strawberry Lemonade!!
a Sutton creation!
2 cups cups strawberries
6 lemons*
1-2 cups Xagave
3-4 cups cold water
Puree 1 1/2 cups of strawberries and 2 tablespoons lemon juice in your Bosch blender until smooth.
You can remove most of the strawberry seeds by forcing it through a fine sieve but we enjoy everything about a strawberry, so I took all the blended strawberry mixture.
Blend together pureed strawberry mixture with remaining lemon juice. Add 1 cup Xagave and water in a large pitcher. Taste, add more Xagave if you like it sweeter!
*Use your Bosch citrus juicer to make fast lemon juice!
Another tip:
Use the lemon rind to clean stains on your counter. Well...not your granite counter. The lemon will get most the stains out and leave your kitchen smelling wonderful.

Spice Tea Mix
Spice Tea in a Jar!
from my sweet mother in law
1 1/4 cups Tang
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup instant tea
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
Make this easy to make by mixing together in your Bosch Universal Mixer with the gourmet whips. Add 2-3 tsp of mix to 1 cup of boiling hot water.
So what is the big deal about using your Bosch to mix the tea? I have tried to mix it with a spoon and the ingredients really didn't mix well. Your bosch mixer will evenly mix the dry ingredients and they will be nicely swirled in your jar. Makes a beautiful gift.

Easy Apple Cider!
This is an easy apple cider mixture that I usually make around Thanksgiving and Christmas. It makes the whole house smell wonderful and it tastes fabulous! I am always trying to find the easiest road to get the results and this apple cider fits the bill.
So what do you need?....
frozen apple juice concentrate (as many as you want to make to drink! I usually make 3 cans of apple juice concentrate into apple juice)
1 orange*
2 T whole cloves
2-3 T cinnamon
Pour the apple juice into your crock or large pan. Place your 'pin-cushioned'** orange in the juice along with the cinnamon. Simmer for 20-30 minutes. Enjoy. I have let my cider simmer on low in my crock throughout the evening having the hot cider ready. It gives such a wonderful aroma to the house. You will love it.
*You will want to do 2 oranges if you do a really large pot of apple juice.
**Use the whole cloves as pin and simply push them into the whole orange. The orange will slowly release the clove and orange flavors into your apple/cinnamon juice.

Fresh Juice Anyone?
Remember the old glass hand citrus juicer you could use with a lot of elbow grease to make that fresh juice? Now, you can let your machine do the work for you and still have fresh juice with minimal clean up!
Using your Bosch Universal Mixer you can expand it to make fresh citrus juice every morning! It is so easy to use. Simply cut your citrus fruit in half; place it pulp side down on the citrus juicer cone; turn the machine on to speed 2.
