Tis the Season

Count your...our blessings one by one! Thanksgiving is the day for being thankful for the little things and the big things in our lives. Yes, we ate a meal but more importantly....count your blessings! Our Thanksgiving blessing was having all our family together for the first time in 5 years!  Everyone from out of town was actually able to make it home at the same time. Yeah...however, our biggest surprise and blessing was the announcement of 2 more grandchildren on the way. We will now be the proud grandparents of NINE grandchildren. Six little ones running around now and 3 in the 'oven!' Wow! what a day of counting our blessings!

Speaking of little ones running around....One of our family traditions is to decorate our Christmas tree after our Thanksgiving celebrations.  Kids always make things so fun with their zeal and love for the Christmas spirit.  When we brought the decorations out, they all lined up to get ornaments to put on the tree.  The only 'problem' is the oldest is 4 years old and the rest are 2 years old.  My point?  Their height, or lack of it, dictated where my ornaments were on the tree. :)  Though bare at the top, my tree is beautiful all around the base where it brings wonderful memories of our day of decorating!  My favorite ornament...my little upside down angel!  This carefully placed angel by one of my two year old grandchildren will bring a smile on my face throughout this Christmas season.  Sweet children.

We also made lots of fun foods which I will be sharing with you over the next few days.  I also have a few ideas to share on how to use your left over turkey.  Now, you may have already eaten your leftover turkey but perhaps these ideas will be there for your Christmas turkey.   It won't be '101 ways to eat turkey' but there will be a few for you to make a variety of meals with turkey meat.  Will post more soon!
