Refrigerator Biscuits!

Have you ever wanted to have fresh biscuits for breakfast but not ready to rise early just for your "June Cleaver moment from 'Leave it to Beaver'"? Well, I have just the biscuit recipe for you.

We made the biscuit dough a couple of days before we even needed them. Wow! Like that is a refrigerated biscuit ready for the spur of the moment meal. :) You have a nutritious biscuit with the convenience of the packaged store biscuits. Hurray for fast meals.

5 cups soft wheat flour (click here)
3/4 cup cut butter into slices
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 T Xagave (click here)
1 T SAF yeast (click here)
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups buttermilk

Sift together dry ingredients; cut in the butter with your pasty cutter (click here). Add buttermilk and yeast, dissolved in water. Mix with spoon until all flour is moist. Cover the bowl and put in the refrigerator until ready to use.

It can be used right away OR dough will keep in fridge for up to 5 days!! Roll out as much dough (1/2" to 3/4" thick)as you want on a floured board. Cut with biscuit cutter (click here). Bake 400 degrees fro 12 minutes.

Note from Paula: For small items on the paulasbread web site I can manually adjust the shipping cost!
